The People

Lockie Leonard has an interesting cast of characters.   We wrote list poems and descriptions  about the characters.

Lachlan Leonard is a 13 year old boy who had moved from the city to the country,

He has to go to a new school and develop a new life.

Throughout his first year of highschool, Lockie has to discover the horrible facts of growing up.

Also throughout the book Lockie has a love interest who becomes his girlfriend.

Lockie has to deal with the popularity that comes with the beautiful Vikki Streeton though. Lockie loves his family but they are a bit unordinary, and brother wets his bed.

Vikki Sreeton is in Lockie’s year and they fall deeply in love.

 I like to surf,

And wet suits that have a zip down the front.

I love Vicki,

And the time we spend kissing,

And her breasts.

Being popular,

And having people want to be my friend.

But I hate clubs,

And my wet suit,

But without it I would have never met the girl of my dreams.

Lockie is a 13yr old surf rat who is just trying to fit in with his new school. Lockie is funny, thoughtful and is kind and doesn’t mind putting up a fight when it comes to the waves.

A Poem on Vicki

I really like Lockie and the way his lips brush up against mine and the way he cuddles e. I really like walking on the beach with my dog in the evenings. I also love a little cigarette once and a while when my parents are out while having a can of coke, but the one thing I like is being popular at school. 

Description of Lockie

 My opinion of Lockie Leonard is he has a really hard time at, the new town and especially starting high school when you don’t know anyone.

 But he does fall in love with this new girl Vicki Streeton and when he does go out with her, he becomes extremely popular throughout the school. That wasn’t my description of the character but is a main part of the story. Lockie seems like a very nice person in the book but his family is extremely awkward in the story.

Lockie is blonde, loves surfing, and is in love with Vicki Streeton
he is medium height, has an old home, and a 5 person family.
He is very humble and is hated by the teachers.
That’s all I can really say about Lockie.

Lockie moved to the new town of angelus and his new house is in a swamp.  Lockie doesn’t like his house because it is really bad and ugly. They move in and there is no power.

Vicki lives far from lockie. Lockie wishes he never moved house.

I like to surf, its my favourite hobby,

I love Vickie and kissing her soft lips,

But her dad scares me,

I only like high school when Vickie’s by my side,

I don’t mind church because I always day dream,

Smoking puts me off,
